gROUPS

Age Categories:
YOUTH – 10 and under
JUNIOR - 14 and under
SENIOR – 17 and under
ADULT – 18 and over
Age Category Regulations
To qualify for an age category the group must have 75% or more dancers within this age bracket.
If more than 25% are in another age bracket the group must then compete in the older age category.
Groups may dance in an older Age Category if they choose but not younger.

Music Guidelines
Up to 2.30 minutes (Maximum) for Youth, Junior & Senior
​Up to 3 minutes (Maximum) for Adult.

Group Terms and Conditions
  • There must be a minimum of 5 dancers and a maximum of 20 dancers in a group. Please be careful and take into consideration the floor dimensions which are approximately 600cm deep - 750cm across. Having more than 15 dancers will be pushing the limits if formations are not tight.
  • The use of props is allowed as long as they are not dangerous and can be brought on and off of the dance floor immediately. You are not permitted to use anything that could hinder yours or the next performance; for example, glitter, water, confetti etc.

GROUP Scoring CRITERIA

Choreography
How creative / effective the choreography is within the set and if applicable how tricks are used to compliment the set
(12 points max)

Synchronicity
How accurately all dancers in the team move together throughout the piece.
(12 points max)

Staging
How well the space has been used within formations; taking into consideration the smoothness of transitions.
(12 points max)
 
Theme
How much thought and effort you have put into the presentation of the whole piece through story telling, outfits, musical choices and movement.
(8 points max)

Technique
How correct are the dancers techniques for the styles performed.
(8 points max)

Performance
How well enjoyment / emotions are shown within the piece, along with the overall energy of the group.
(8 points max)

Overall
How much and how well a judge believes everything comes together in it’s entirety.
(8 points max)

soloS

Age Categories
YOUTH – 10 and under
JUNIOR - 14 and under
SENIOR – 17 and under
ADULT – 18 and over
Dancers may dance in an older Age Category if they choose but not younger.
Dancers will perform to current popular music chosen by the DJ.
Pre-Selections
Dancing in a group of up to approximately 15 dancers at the same time, judges will give a wristband to the dancer they choose to proceed to the next round.
6 dancers are selected from each round (5 @London) and the process will continue until there are only 6 dancers remaining (5 @London).

Solos Final
All Experienced Finalists perform by themselves for approximately 45 seconds.

The judges score each dancer by the 'Solos Scoring Criteria' which is used to place them.

SOLOS SCORING CRITERIA

Dance
The understanding of groove and feeling by connecting to the music.
(12 points max)

Musicality
Understanding the components of music i.e. instruments / rhythms and showing them accurately.
(12 points max)

Technique
The quality and execution of your movements.
(12 points max)
 
Creativity
How creative / unique you are within your movements.
(8 points max)

Performance
How well enjoyment / emotions are shown along with your overall energy.
(8 points max)

Overall
How much and how well a judge believes everything comes together in it’s entirety.
(8 points max)

DUOS

Age Categories
YOUTH – 10 and under

Dancers will perform to current popular music chosen by the DJ.
Pre-Selections
Dancing in groups the judges will give a wristband to the duo/s they choose to proceed to the next round.
Depending on the amount of dancers in the category, Duos that do not get chosen on the 1st Round may get a 2nd chance to go get through.

The selection process will continue until there are only 6 duos remaining.

Duo Finals
All Experienced Finalist Duos perform by themselves for approximately 45 seconds.

The judges score each duo by the 'Duos Scoring Criteria' which is used to place them.

DUOS SCORING CRITERIA

Dance

2vs2

ALLSTYLES BATTLE
Age Categories
YOUNGERS – 15 and under
OLDERS – 16 and over
Age Category Regulations
You must dance in the Age Category of the older dancer.
Dancers may dance in an older Age Category if they choose but not younger.

​Pre-selections
Couples will have a minute round to showcase their skills. The DJ will play at random music genres: Hip Hop, House, Funk etc.
The judges top 8 partners will proceed to the ‘Quarter Finals’.

The Quarter-finals will be 2 one minute rounds per couple.
Winners will advance to the Semi-finals.

The Semi-finals will be the same set up as the Quarter-finals.

The Final will be 4 one minute rounds per couple.

PARTNERS CAN DECIDE HOW THEY USE EACH ROUND WHETHER SOLO FREESTYLES OR ROUTINES ETC
